CoStar Offers Users a 'New Perspective'
Aerial Images Now Added to CoStar Property on the Web
CoStar Group (Nasdaq: CSGP ) has integrated aerial and satellite images with its commercial property data to offer users a 'new perspective' for conducting space searches and site analysis in Web-based CoStar Property. The aerial and satellite images are provided under an agreement between CoStar and GlobeXplorer, Inc., a leading aggregator of interactive aerial photos via the Internet.
"We are pleased to provide our customers with high quality, nationwide aerial photography at no additional charge," said Andy Florance, president & CEO of CoStar. "Aerial views provide another valuable way to analyze commercial real estate. These high resolution images are tightly integrated into Web-based CoStar Property and provide the same search functionality as our popular mapping tools."
A powerful tool just got more powerful.
CoStar subscribers will now be able to view high quality, digital aerial photographs for every building in its database. In addition, CoStar has taken these new imaging capabilities a step further by adding proprietary technology to enable users to actually search for buildings and space using aerial images.
Users simply call up a specific aerial image corresponding to the property or market they are researching and use online controls to select specific locations on those images, just as they would on a street map.
"Aerial imagery adds great value to the building data we currently track," stated Florance. "Our clients can combine detailed property data with the unique perspective of aerial imagery for even better site and market analysis."
Talk about a competitive advantage. Now that's what we call seeing 'the big picture .'
